Edmonds School District Football Teams to compete in the Intimidator Challenge | Restaurants

Have you ever watched Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel? You may want to catch an episode to see what’s going on this weekend in Mountlake Terrace. Three members from four different Edmonds School District football teams will be competing in Red Onion’s first annual district wide “Eat Off”. Each player must scarf down a 3½ Intimidator burger in less than 30 minutes. The Intimidator consists of one and a half pounds of beef, a half-pound of buns and fixings, half a pound of chili, a half a pound of macaroni and cheese and a half a pound of french fries. Ouch! Participating teams are Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood, Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale high schools.

This Sunday, September 5th starting at 6pm at Red Onion, in Mountlake Terrace, guests are invited to watch this showdown. There is currently a “Wall of Fame” in the restaurant which features patrons who have finished the Intimidator in less than 30 minutes, so we know it can be done. The current record is under 14 minutes.

The challenge will take place at 6pm but come in any time from 4-8pm and half of your bill will be donated to the schools’ football programs. 50% of all sales and tips will be equally distributed among the 4 football programs. Additionally, the Red Onion and other sponsors will donate an extra $500 to the team of the football player who finishes the Intimidator first.
